Ambush Sausage and Pasta Bar is located at B2 of Takashimaya Shopping Center, in a newly renovated dining area next to the food court. As the name suggests, this stall sells sausages and pasta.
I ordered a bockwurst sausage set, which comes with a choice of carbs. You can choose different potato dishes, ranging from mashed to rosti. I picked the rosti.
This rosti is one of the best I’ve had. The outer layer is a nice crisp and the interior still fluffy. The rosti is light, but it is a little on the oily side, which explains the crisp. The sausages come with a dollop of sour cream and sauerkraut. They also provide tomato sauce, chilli and mustard for the sausage. Do ask for the mustard, it’s very flavourful and has the mustardy zing.
The bockwurst are crunchy (yes! crunchy!). As with most sausages, you can’t go wrong. Any sodium nitrite overload is good, for the soul that is.
This set costs $11.20. I don’t consider it too expensive seeing how sausages as such can cost anything between $2 to $4 each from the supermarket. I will definitely return to this stall in future, and I strongly recommend the rosti. This is a must-go for all sausage fans!
How to locate this stall? Take the downward riding escalator near the crockery area from B1 of Takashimaya Shopping Centre and it’d be right in front of you. Alternatively, wander around in B2, you will spot it.
