In an edition of Urban (that weekly fashion issue with the Straits Times), I read the interview with the POP Beauty creator, Sara Strand, in the section where they like to peek into famous people’s bags. She was carrying this Goddess clutch. I saw how functional it was and had wanted it ever since.
The other day I was at Sephora and I saw that it was still being sold. So I bought one. In fact, there are two other variants of the clutch collection, mine is the Goddess clutch, and the clutch is silver faux croc prints (the picture is a little off). The other two variants are the 24k and Rock n Roll. After discussing with the salesperson a little, we both decided the Goddess clutch is most functional in the sense it has eyeshadow shades suitable for both night and day, while the other two variants were more dedicated to either day or night respectively.
The clutch is not big; it measures about 4 inches by 2 inch. It’s functional if you take out the makeup and use it as a card holder when you go clubbing or something. Or even after you ever finish the makeup, you can use the clutch as a namecard holder if you like bling.
There are eight eyeshadow shades, 2 blushes and a lipgloss. The eyeshadow is pretty pigmented, though not as pigmented as M.A.C. in my opinion. Below are the swatches for the day and night eyeshadow shades respectively:
All in all I think this clutch makes a perfect Christmas gift especially for a makeup starter for a friend just initiated into makeup. It has all she needs for a day and night look, and at $49 a palette for that variety of products, I would say it’s reasonable. If you are at Sephora, check out the other POP Beauty products – they are fun and functional.
